In February, we dove into the series "Stretch". We discussed how our faith is like a muscle, in order for it to grow stronger stretching is important! The four key points were:
You can stretch your faith with a commitment.
You can stretch your faith by starting something new.
You can stretch your faith by letting something go.
You can stretch your faith even when you fail.
Youth were challenged the first week to make one new commitment within one of these categories; Show Up, Follow Jesus, Love God, Love Others, or Ask Questions. Then, we discussed both good and bad habits and how we are called not just to lay down bad habits, but to replace them with good ones! It's important to look at what we do to add-to our faith as well as what we avoid to help our faith. Lastly, we looked at what happens when we fail, and how growth and strength can come from failure. To grow our faith, we must Stretch!
I am honored to get to spend time with your youth leading and learning from and with them. I know there are several other options of where your youth could be and what they could be involved with, so I cherish any amount of time I get to spend with them, thank you!
IMPORTANT NOTE: We generally follow the Beavercreek school calendar, which would mean we do not meet during spring break. However, this year, because of our schedule (which got adjusted several times), we will meet on March 24. If you remember from earlier communications, we had to delay our assembly of the Blessing Bags which will be given to those experiencing homelessness - we will be assembling these on Wednesday, March 24. Any extra time we have that week during YAA, we will play games and hang out doing life together.
